Returns & Refund Policy
Overview
Anderson Biotests / PVSA provides a mail-in post-vasectomy semen analysis service. Because our core service is laboratory analysis — not simply the shipment of a physical kit — our return and refund policy reflects the nature of each stage of the process: ordering, shipping, sample submission, and laboratory analysis. Please read this policy carefully before purchasing.

1. Order Cancellations & Duplicate Orders
If you need to cancel an order or if a duplicate order was placed in error, the following applies:

To request a cancellation, contact us as soon as possible at support@pvsa.org. We process orders promptly and cannot guarantee cancellation after an order is placed.
2. Returns: Unused or Unopened Kits
If you have received a kit but no longer wish to use it, you may request a refund within 90 days of your purchase date, subject to the following:
- Refunds are issued to the original payment method only.
- A $15 processing fee will be deducted from all refunds on shipped orders.
- You do not need to return the physical kit to receive a refund.
To request a return refund, email support@pvsa.org with your order number and reason for return.
3. Sample Rejection
Occasionally, a submitted sample cannot be analyzed due to issues with the sample itself upon receipt. We handle these situations as follows:
3a. Low Sample Volume or Leakage in Transit
If your sample is rejected because of insufficient volume or leakage during shipping:
- First occurrence: We will send a replacement kit at no charge.
- Second occurrence: A member of our team will contact you by email (or by phone if we do not have an email address on file) to help identify the cause. Depending on the circumstances, we will either send another replacement kit at no charge or provide a 50% discount code toward a new kit purchase.
- Replacement kits are not eligible for refund. Our goal is to help you reach a successful result.
3b. No Sample Present
If a kit is returned with no sample included, a member of our team will contact you to discuss next steps. No automatic replacement or refund is issued in this case.
3c. Wrong Collection Container Used
The use of any container other than the one provided in your PVSA kit voids the kit. If we receive a sample in an unauthorized container, we will contact you to discuss options. No refund is issued for voided kits.
4. Laboratory Errors
Although uncommon, laboratory errors can occasionally prevent us from producing a valid result. A laboratory error is defined and determined solely by our laboratory staff and may include sample contamination, processing failures, or equipment issues that occur after your sample is received.
If a laboratory error occurs:
- We will contact you by email (or by phone if necessary) to notify you of the situation.
- We will provide a replacement kit at no charge so that you may resubmit a sample at your convenience.
- If you prefer not to resubmit and would like a refund instead, we will honor that request. Refunds for lab errors are issued minus a $15 processing fee.
The determination of whether an issue constitutes a laboratory error rests solely with our laboratory staff. We are not able to issue lab-error replacements or refunds based on a patient’s belief that a result is incorrect (see Section 5 below).
5. Result Disputes
Anderson Biotests / PVSA is a clinical laboratory. We provide semen analysis results; we do not provide medical interpretation, counseling, or advice. All results are also reported directly to the ordering physician.
If you have questions or concerns about your result:
- Please contact your physician or the healthcare provider who ordered the test. They are best positioned to interpret your result in the context of your overall health and vasectomy history.
- We are not able to issue refunds on the basis of a disputed result. Once a sample has been analyzed, the service has been performed.
- If you would like a second data point, you are welcome to order a new kit and submit a fresh sample.

7. How to Request a Refund or Replacement

Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 5–10 business days of approval.
