Why Order Two?

Two reasons:
(1) Sperm counts below 100,000 per mL after vasectomy are assumed to eliminate the risk of pregnancy - Read more. Historically, two or three post vasectomy semen analyses (PVSA) were recommended to guarantee low were consistent. More recent recommendations recommend only one PVSA if the first count is less than 100,000. Some men and their surgeons still feel two separate PVSAs offer more assurance.
(2) Analysis of 5,408 PVSA kits revealed 4.4% contained sperm counts greater than 100,000 necessitating ordering a second kit.

Therefore, for more than 95% of men, a second kit will not be necessary.
